Think Big

I am participating in a Pity Party Swap - for those of us who cannot attend the annual Pennywise Arts WLSBP.

This is a matchbook shrine with an envelope flap. I used Pennywise bubble beads on the inside and a mixture of microbeads - different colors.I distressed all pieces with distress inks.

Hope you enjoy!

Learning new things

I have been reading about permaculture lately. Interesting! There are things that I have really known for a while but this is good to share. More later. Need to read more.

Hoped to take a class starting this weekend on permaculture but with the snow hitting the area hard I am not sure it will happen - plus it is three days and interferes with Friday work. Decisions to be made.

Snow Days!

Lots of snow and cold blowing snow! My yearly goal has been put off but I have faith!

Time to regroup and have my DH home soon.

Love to all -

Time to Create - Some pursue happiness - others create it!

With new Copics in hand and a few new stamps I have made the decision to create at least one project a week for 2012. Any size any medium. Any theme and who knows what will come of it!

To brainstorm:

1) I have a pocket watch from Ranger to create and it has me wondering what to do.
2) For now I have three pieces of cardboard that was once packing for something. They are roughly 4X4 pieces with cutouts so a book is planned. This weekend I plan to make it happen. So stayed tuned for the end result.
3) ATCs need to be made and microbeads will need to be applied.
4) Pages and visual journaling - some inspiration from MJ and her classes.
5) Fabric - yes fabric - I plan on incorporating fabric into my work. I love to sew and I saw the coolest fabric journal! I can do this!

What are you doing?

A new beginning - 2012 - Bon Voyage

The new year brought about a growing family. In 2011 baby Jacob arrived and every day is full of excitement and joy. Christmas was a blessed time with Jeremiah and Larissa joining us all. Kaitlin has been so good to me and every moment with her and Jake and baby Jacob has been so much fun. Zachary is entertaining and full of surprises - he amazes me. Jerry - the love of my life - inspires me and makes my heart smile. And Mary - it was good to see her enjoy baby Jacob and Christmas. It is nice to have family around!

The house was bursting at the seams and it was so good to see and share and touch my son. But we managed and there was laughter and tears and hugs and sharing. Baby Jacob grew up over the break and is mobile and chatting away.

Larissa was such a good sport going to Mary Jo's Christmas party with Kaitlin, baby Jacob and me. She has quite the artistic eye! Plus she can cook! I am so glad she is part of our lives. I enjoyed getting to know her and look forward to seeing them again soon.

Below is the picture of them pulling away to go back to California and in a few days they embark upon a journey only few can imagine. I miss them already! They are so cute together! Congrats you two!

It's Going to Be A BOY!!!!

Found out last night that my daughter and her dear husband will be having  little boy! We are thrilled - with just the news of the baby and mom doing well and then to find out! Such a blessing!

We already had the date (in April) but this is awesome! She asked me to create a card for her to use and below please see my recent work. I also made some ATCs and affixed a magnet on the back for her as a refrigerator magnet.

A BOY! How sweet is that?

Fat Book Done! Time - The Time to Be Happy Is Now!

It took me forever to complete the swap creation - PWA hosted another fatbook swap and the task was to revitalize an ordinary CD and incorporate a time theme.

Well - it was hard. First, getting something to adhere to the CD was a challenge but the wonderful O'So red line tape worked wonders. Then finding a design - boy - it was difficult - I ended up reorganzing ALL my stamps in order to do just that. I found all my clock stamps and then just started stamping and playing. I have TONS of stamps - time to start selling some off. Or trade! LOL!

This is what I ended up with. Thanks to distress inks and all the stamps I have collected over the years. Add clear, red and bubble beads and you have a finished project. I kept fishing around for stuff to embellish with and found plenty! I could have spent another week adding to this.

Thanks to Suzanne at Pennywise for hosting!

Of course I had to state on the back the famous Alice in Wonderland saying that is so me.... I'm late, Im late.... (LOL!) If you read this please forgive my rants. You can't see it but it is there.

Wishing you all well!
